Green Beret / Intelligence Officer / Author
I grew up outside of Boston, MA in a blue collar family. My desire to serve started at an early age hearing stories of my grandfather Jack Fielding, an RAF navigator who was a POW during the Great Escape in WWII. I enlisted in 2010 as an 18X, was selected to be a Special Forces Communication Sergeant. I was on ODA 1111 1st Battalion 1st Special Forces Group in Okinawa Japan. Did the last OEF-Philippines rotation on the CT LCE, among many other deployments around Southeast Asia. Along the way I became the ODA's 18F Special Forces Intelligence Sergeant and was picked up by a special program to become a human intelligence officer. After 21 something months of training I was sent on an OIR rotation producing human intelligence in order to kill/capture ISIS and Al-Qaeda leadership. As things heated up with Iran I was one of the guys that helped brought down Soleimani. My awards include a BSM, MSM, and a couple AAMs. I wrote a book titled Into the Darkness: A Journey of Love, War, and Emotional Freedom, it is a no holds barred story about my battle with suicide and all the ugly things that come with it. I wrote the book because I have lost quite a few friends to suicide, and. I wanted to tell my story to help empower guys out there "own their shit" and heal just as hard as they fight. Other than writing I work in health and wellness for law enforcement.
